Julie Jordan, Pianist and Pedagogue

Julie Jordan celebrated with a Carnegie Weill Hall concert April 18, 2010, her 'teaching anniversary of twenty-five years' at The Juilliard School Evening Division where she is on the Piano Faculty. Dr. Julie Jordan has developed a considerable following as both pianist and pedagogue and is known for her masterclasses in New York as well as abroad. Julie Jordan's goal is to inspire her students to become their own best teacher.
A graduate of The Juilliard School, MSM, UCLA, and Dominican University of San Rafael, Dr. Jordan has earned her DMA, MFA, MM, BM magna cum laude. Julie Jordan was the recipient of numerous honors and scholarships and offers performance opportunities Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall Workshops for young international and local students at venues such as Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and in summer music festivals.

Julie Jordan created "The Piano Concerto Class", "Solo and Collaborative Piano Works", "Playing to Listen, Reflecting through Recording", masterclasses that she will teach in the Fall Semester 2010 on Monday/Thursday evenings at Juilliard.
Recently, Julie Jordan performed "Chopin 200" at the Winter Garden at the World Financial Center. Julie Jordan has performed recitals, chamber music and piano concerti on the concert platforms of UCLA's Royce Hall, UC Berkeley's Hertz Hall, Frank Lloyd Wright's Marin Civic Center, Santa Barbara's Lobero Theater, Alice Tully Hall, in addition to salon settings throughout the US and in Stratford, Cloisters of San Nicola, the isles of Capri, Italy, Greece, Japan, and Manhattan. Blessed with extraordinary teachers, Dr. Jordan studied with Aube Tzerko, Adolph Baller, Tanya Ury and Abbey Simon. Julie Jordan's performances have been broadcast on the radio stations of WQXR, WNYC in New York City and KDFC and KKHI in San Francisco. Julie Jordan is the author of "Speed-Reading at the Keyboard" in 3 Vol.
Julie Jordan's first prize awards include scholarships and performances: Marin Symphony, Music Academy of the West Festival Orchestra, Burbank Symphony, Dominican Univ. Orchestra, Orchestra Piccola, Contra Costa Symphony, Berkeley Bach Festival, Aspen Music Festival and UCLA's Frank Sinatra's Classical Music Award. Dr. Jordan has held teaching fellowships at UCLA and The Juilliard School where she was also awarded the Atwater-Kent and Knafel prizes.
